About NYC Doula Corps

Through this program, selected new doulas will be invited to attend a DONA-approved doula training workshop taught by Rina Crane in exchange for attending three volunteer births for underserved families in New York City. Corps doulas will be assigned mentors from our sister-organization, the NYC Doula Collective, benefiting from the insight of some of our most experienced professionals. In addition, while Corps doulas are not eligible to join the Collective, they will have access to multiple Collective resources while with the program, including Tier One referrals up to their 10th birth (after completing their volunteer births) and continued education through our monthly Collective breakout meetings.

Mentoring is a fundamental and essential part of the NYC Doula Corps. We believe strongly that both training and mentorship are critical to the development of new doulas as they grow in this work. Doulas who join the Corps will have access to mentorship from seasoned doulas from the NYC Doula Collective up to and including their 10th birth.
